You need to decide what you want the end result to be and work backwards from that. Many people feel that email marketing is a waste of time, as they have tried it before and it has failed. The reasons for the failure could include a poorly defined purpose for the campaign, there were unrealistic timescales for the campaign or you may not have targeted the right people with the campaign.
